At Identities Counseling we understand that life can become overwhelming. We understand that there are so many individuals out there that have experienced significant trauma and at times find it hard to cope. Trauma and depression can cause people to feel lost and alone and often cause them to isolate and withdraw from friends and family, and the larger society.
One of the more pervasive issues that can result from trauma is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). The Borderline Experience can be very difficult for so many as they struggle with dissociation, extreme fluctuations in mood, significant mood swings and getting stuck in the black and white, all or nothing thinking. People who are diagnosed with BPD also struggle with paranoid thinking and significant issues with self-esteem, self-image and self-worth. In addition, people with BPD can often feel overwhelmed and that life is out of control. They often struggle with impulsivity and will sometimes engage in self-destructive behaviors.
This support group is designed to bring people of similar experience together to share their experiences and to discuss effective coping strategies, build tools for future use and to create community with others.
Identities Counseling provides and open minded, safe space and nonjudgmental environment for individuals who struggle with BPD to talk about their concerns and share their stories with others with similar experiences. We offer an in-person weekly support group for young people 16 years old and up where you can come together with other young people who struggle with BPD and discuss their expereinces in a confidential, therapist guided support group.
This group will meet weekly on Thursdays from 6 PM - 7:30 PM begining 6/13/2024. The sliding scale fee is $25.00 to attend. Several Insurances accepted.
